Pharmacy Perspectives on Maternal RSV Vaccination

The 2024 adult immunization schedule from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that pregnant people receive vaccines, including RSV vaccine to generate passive immunity, which occurs when maternal antibodies are passed to the infant and provide protection. This resource offers insights about current practices for maternal immunization in pharmacy settings, explores pharmacists’ knowledge and perspectives about RSV disease burden in infants and the maternal RSV vaccine, and identifies gaps and opportunities to support the role of pharmacists in maternal immunization for the prevention of RSV in infants.
