International Vice President Toolkit

Group 1

APhA-ASP is the Full Member that represents the United States of America to the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). As a member of APhA-ASP, you are automatically a member of IPSF. It is the largest organization representing student pharmacists and recent graduates, consisting of more than 500,000 members in more than 100 countries. It aims to improve public health by

  • 1) advancing the practice of pharmacy.
  • 2) serving as the collective voice of student pharmacists and recent graduates.
Use the toolkit below to learn how to include aspects of IPSF at your APhA-ASP chapter!

IPSF Campaigns and Projects

Group 2

“Think globally, act locally.” IPSF events do not have to be international. Please see the official IPSF Projects and Programs Guide below. Other IPSF public health campaigns can be found by visiting IPSF and the World Health Organization official health days. APhA-ASP patient care events may be considered IPSF events thus collaboration between International Vice Presidents and the other patient care initiatives is strongly encouraged.

Please contact your APhA-ASP/IPSF National Project Coordinator with questions about IPSF Campaigns and Projects.

Student Exchange Program (SEP)

Group 3

The Student Exchange Program (SEP) is IPSF’s largest project, with more than 1,000 students participating each year. SEP allows student pharmacists to experience the field in one of more than 90 countries. To become involved with SEP, your chapter may

  • 1) encourage chapter members to apply as outgoing exchange students to other countries, and/or
  • 2) create a host site for incoming exchange students.

Outgoing Exchange Students

The pre-application is open from September 1st until November 1st. The pre-application requires a CV, letter of intent, and letter of support from your chapter advisor.

IPSF Leadership and Conferences

Group 4

The major conferences of IPSF are the Regional Symposia and the World Congress (WC). Each of the five regional offices hold their own Regional Symposium. For PARO, it is the Pan American Regional Symposium (PARS). All attendees of PARS and WC have the opportunity to network with other attendees, participate in public health campaigns, compete in competitions, and explore the hosting country.
